Nice song and video from the new Portishead album…

Hot on the heels of the new full length album titled Port Authority being released Marco Polo & Mike Boogie have teamed up to offer the Newport Authority Mixtape. Not bad considering the mixtape consists of twenty six solid tracks and available for free download. Be sure to check out Port Authority which is out May 15, 2007 on Rawkus Records.

Great new video from Battles for the single ‘Atlas’. The track is taken from their debut full-length album ‘Mirrored’, out May 14th on Warp Records. Video directed by Tim Saccenti.

A friend sent me a link about this a couple of days back…who couldn’t love the combination of industrial robots and vinyl LPs?

“The Juke Bot is a pair of Kuka industrial robots; each is surrounded by a set of platters (you know, vinyl LPs). The two bots act independently, deftly grasping an LP, and then bringing it to a platform with a phonograph needle. Delicately, the robot presses the LP against the needle and begins to rotate it forward and backward, creating a unique performance sound.”
